Trombone Choir - O Magnum Mysterium (Morten Lauridsen, arr. Andrew Poirier)

Morten Lauridsen’s legendary work, O Magnum Mysterium, is one of the world’s most popular works for choral ensembles. ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ translates from Latin as ‘O Great Mystery’. The intent of the piece is to musically depict the Nativity scene around Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Andrew Poirier, Second Trombone with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, has beautifully transcribed this legendary choral piece for trombone quintet. This rendition was played The Salvation Army’s Territorial Music School in Canada, by trombone players from across Canada and the USA.
