Welcome back to the Forest Hills Farm Timelapse. After a full month of continuous production, our wood-processing facilities have accumulated a large supply of valuable products. It is finally time to sell everything and discover how profitable our growing forestry industry has become. We begin at the construction-material factory, where we load and sell the finished MDF and OSB panels. We then return to the small sawmill installed in our farmyard and begin transporting its finished products, including boards, planks, and wooden slats. After another delivery, we check the farm’s account and discover that the balance has already reached an incredible $1,021,910. However, we currently don’t own an active forest plot, and without a reliable timber supply, our wood-processing businesses cannot continue operating through the winter. Instead of using the money to reduce the inherited debt, we make another major investment. We purchase a new forest plot together with several additional fields, spending $542,916. This gives us more timber to harvest during winter and additional farmland that can generate income during the growing season. We then continue selling the remaining lumber products and earn another $280,321. With forestry becoming a permanent part of our operation, constantly renting equipment no longer makes financial sense. We visit the equipment dealership and purchase our own forestry harvester for $373,000. At our request, the dealer installs a reinforced harvesting head capable of cutting the thick trees that regular forestry equipment previously could not handle. We transport the new harvester directly to our forest property and immediately begin felling trees and processing them into logs. Once enough timber has been prepared, we make one more major business decision. Instead of delivering the logs to our small farmyard sawmill, we purchase a full-scale commercial sawmill for $300,000 and transport the first load of timber directly to our new facility. During this episode, we earned more than $1 million, but our investments were even larger. We spent $1,215,916 on land, forestry equipment, and the new sawmill. No payment was made toward the farm’s enormous debt today, but these investments should greatly increase our future income from timber and processed wood products. This Farming Simulator 25 survival challenge on the Forest Hills map continues as we sell a month’s production, purchase new land, buy our first forestry harvester, and expand from a small farmyard operation into a full-scale lumber business.
