For several hours, we didn't know whether the pilgrimage would continue. Finally, we received the good news that the route had reopened, and we started our journey from Pahalgam to Chandanwari around 7:30 AM. The journey itself wasn't easy. At 3–4 security checkpoints, the Indian Army advised us to return because we were starting late. We politely requested permission at every checkpoint, and thankfully, we were allowed to continue. Once we reached Chandanwari, our dream trek finally began. The first 3 kilometers were extremely steep and physically demanding. After pushing ourselves through the climb, we reached the beautiful Pissu Top, where breathtaking mountain views welcomed us. As we continued towards Zojipal, light rain began to fall. Trekking through mist-covered mountains, flowing rivers, lush valleys, and grazing sheep created some of the most beautiful moments of our Amarnath journey. However, after crossing Zojipal, the real challenge began. The increasing altitude brought severe fatigue and breathing difficulties due to lower oxygen levels. Carrying heavy backpacks while walking continuously in the rain made every step more difficult. By evening, dense fog covered the entire valley, reducing visibility and making the trek even more adventurous. After hours of determination, we finally reached Sheshnag Camp, completely exhausted. We were so tired that we slept without even having dinner. Despite all these hardships, our group of 8 friends kept our spirits high.
