We're racing the rain again on the farm with a packed day of critical jobs! With just a short window of dry weather, we finally laid down black plastic mulch for our vegetable crops — a key step that helps with weed control, soil warmth, and moisture retention. After that, I loaded up the nitrogen applicator and side dressed our early sweet corn with 20 gallons of 28% nitrogen to give it the boost it needs to grow strong and healthy.
These are the kinds of days where every hour counts — getting caught up before the next round of rain hits. If you're dealing with wet spring conditions too, you'll relate to the hustle!
