Wayne Wolford - Army Veteran

Wayne R. Wolford Sr. is a storyteller, community advocate, and Army veteran whose life has been shaped by service, culture, and a deep commitment to preserving local history. After retiring from the military and settling in Tennessee, he dedicated himself to documenting the stories of Black veterans, families, and leaders across his county — ultimately founding the Black History Museum of Warren County, Tennessee. His voice carries decades of lived experience, from military service to teaching, barbering, and authorship, making him a powerful presence in conversations about identity, resilience, and community.
