Police Storm Achimota &Arrested 64 suspected Armed men Seize Pistols,3 Pump-Action Gµns & Ammunition

A major police operation near Achimota Mile 7 in the Greater Accra Region has led to the arrest of 64 suspects and the recovery of several firearms and ammunition. According to the Ghana Police Service, the operation was conducted by the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police (SOA), in collaboration with the National SWAT, following complaints from residents about suspected criminal activities around a lounge. Police reportedly recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson pistol from a suspect who allegedly claimed to be a Police officer but was later found not to be a serving officer. Further investigations reportedly led officers to Atico, where another suspect was arrested. A search of his residence allegedly uncovered three pump-action guns, four pistols, dozens of cartridges and other exhibits. A blue, unregistered Acura vehicle was also impounded after police found a pistol holster inside, although no one at the scene reportedly claimed ownership of it. The 64 suspects are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be put before the court.
