Udupi Sri Krishna Matha is gearing up for a grand celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on September 4 and Vitlapindi–Sri Krishna Leelotsava on September 5 under the auspices of Paryaya Shirur Matha. The celebrations will feature the midnight arghya to Lord Krishna, Mahapuja, Anna Santarpane, cultural programmes, children’s events and traditional Hulivesha competitions. A special attraction of Vitlapindi will be a Mallayuddha demonstration by invited wrestling experts at the Rathabeedi stage. The two-day Hulivesha competition and performances by artists from different backgrounds will add to the festive atmosphere. The celebrations will conclude on September 6 with a prize distribution ceremony and special Koti Tulasi Archane.
