Join Grammy-winning engineer Marc Daniel Nelson as he takes you back to 1968 to explore one of the rarest compressors ever built—the original Neve 2252 germanium compressor—and its faithful software recreation, the P252 MDN Diode.
Developed in collaboration with Marc Daniel Nelson, the P252 MDN Diode captures the unmistakable tone, attitude, and unique "holding" behavior of the original hardware while adding carefully designed modern enhancements, including Release, Response Time, Sidechain HPF, Mix, Drive, Heft, Auto Gain, and more.
In this video, Marc explains the history of the original unit. Coming out of the famous Wessex Studio in London. Known for albums by the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Queen, and The Pretenders. Watch as he demonstrates every feature of the plugin and shows how he uses the P252 MDN Diode on bass, drums, and vocals in a real mix.
