The family initially has two city-bred daughters-in-law, Madhavi and Neeta, who enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and are used to buying expensive vegetables from a local vegetable seller named Keshav. They believe that vegetables that look fresh, colorful, and expensive must automatically be healthy and high quality. However, their habit of spending heavily on vegetables soon becomes a problem for the family. One day, Tanvi complains about the boiled vegetables prepared by Madhavi and Neeta, saying that they have no taste. Sulochana also questions why the two daughters-in-law spend so much money on vegetables when cheaper and better options are available in the market. Madhavi and Neeta proudly defend their choice, claiming that Keshav brings fresh vegetables directly to their doorstep, making a trip to the market unnecessary. The family gradually begins to notice that although the vegetables look attractive, everyone complains about their taste and sometimes even feels uncomfortable after eating them. Rahul, Madhavi’s husband, eventually reveals that Keshav uses chemicals and excessive fertilizers while growing his vegetables. He explains that just because vegetables are freshly picked does not mean they are organic or healthy. Madhavi and Neeta refuse to believe him and continue purchasing vegetables from Keshav because they are convenient and look fresh. Meanwhile, Tulsi, the grandmother-in-law, becomes increasingly unhappy with the way the household is being managed. She feels that the expensive vegetables are wasting too much money and decides that the remaining three sons should marry simple village girls who understand traditional household values. Sulochana initially refuses to accept the idea of village daughters-in-law, believing that city girls are more suitable for their family, but Tulsi remains firm. Soon, three sisters from a village, Pooja, Richa, and Mohini, are selected as brides for Karan, Rishabh, and Manish. The three sisters are simple, hardworking, respectful, and deeply connected to traditional farming and food practices. Their arrival creates tension because Madhavi and Neeta secretly look down on them for being from a village. They wonder how village girls will adjust to their modern household and believe that there will be a major difference between city daughters-in-law and village daughters-in-law. After the three sisters enter the house, everyone prepares for their first cooking ceremony. Madhavi and Neeta are responsible for bringing vegetables, but instead of going to the market, they once again purchase expensive vegetables from Keshav. The prices shock the neighbors, who question why anyone would spend so much money on ordinary vegetables. Madhavi and Neeta proudly defend their decision and hand the vegetables over to Pooja, Richa, and Mohini, expecting them to prepare an impressive meal. The three new daughters-in-law work together and prepare several delicious-looking dishes, including palak paneer, paneer chilli, pakoras, lachha parathas, and mixed vegetables. The entire family praises the food, and Tulsi is especially happy with the new daughters-in-law. Everyone assumes that the first cooking ceremony has been a complete success. However, when Pooja, Richa, and Mohini finally sit down to eat, they immediately notice something strange. The vegetables look fresh but taste lifeless and unusual. They explain that the problem is not their cooking but the quality of the vegetables.
