The Challengers Cup is bringing together 69 teams and 552 players for one of the largest competitive Warhammer 40,000 team events in the United States.
In this video, I break down the complete Challengers Cup 2026 field before the event begins. We look at the armies players are bringing, which factions appear on the most teams, how the five event dispositions are being assigned, and what those choices tell us about the expected tournament meta.
This is an eight-player team event, so raw faction representation only tells part of the story. Each team must cover the event’s different battlefield roles, including Reconnaissance, Disruption, Priority Assets, Purge the Foe, and Take and Hold. That creates some interesting patterns in how particular armies are being used.
We will also look at the Battleborn roster, the roles assigned to each of our armies, and some of the matchups and broader trends I will be watching when the event begins.
The goal is to provide a clear overview of the tournament before the first pairings are announced and establish a baseline we can compare against the actual results afterward.
