When God says the time has come

God is patient, but His patience should never be mistaken for indifference. In Amos 8, Israel has repeatedly ignored God's warnings and opportunities to repent. Evan Weiss examines God's judgment of Israel, His concern for those being mistreated, the connection between genuine worship and the way we live, and the frightening picture of a famine—not of food or water, but of hearing the Word of the Lord. Amos reminds us not to take God's Word for granted. God has spoken, ultimately through His Son. The question for us is whether we are listening and responding.
