Josh Kerr won the men's 1500m at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest on September 13, 2026, clocking 3:29.35 to hold off Australia's Cameron Myers (3:29.68). Racing in the same stadium where he won the 2023 world title, Kerr sat buried in the pack while Robert Farken led through 400m in 57.09 and Yared Nuguse surged with 500m to run. Kerr moved onto the leader's shoulder with 300m left, then closed his final 200m in 26.02 seconds.
