Alliance Chieftain Guide vs Thargoids [2024]

Introducing Bug Smashers - reviewing all Elite: Dangerous ships for their anti-xeno combat potential in 2024. What better ship to start than with the iconic Alliance Chieftain? Long the staple of AX combat... is it now past its prime? Build Links "Meta" AX Chieftain - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED [Start here. You'll regret it if you don't] https://edsy.org/s/vfm63rO "Minimal Engineering" AX Chieftain" [Designed as a stepping stone towards the Meta Chieftain] https://edsy.org/s/vM5J9Gt Note: Felicity Farseer, Liz Ryder, and Dweller engineers required only. "Flakless" AX Chieftain" [Designed for space AXCZs and advanced solo combat] https://edsy.org/s/vHZLmDc Note 1: If fighting at AX VHCZs (where glaives often spawn), A-AGF engineering on gauss and GMRPs is recommended. Note 2: For Space AXCZs use it w/ SFN+CSL; for advanced solo combat swap those two out for all-HSLs. Note 3: Can swap the small beam for a LR5/OS Cytoscrambler, if available, for a minor +DPS/-Range tradeoff. "No-repair" AX Chieftain [Designed for port-based AXCZs (where repairs are available)] https://edsy.org/s/v3kVkr7 Note 1: A-AGF engineering on gauss and GMRPs is recommended, as glaives spawn at ports under attack. Note 2: GMRPs can be replaced with regular MRPs with little impact to the build overall. "Lightweight" AX Chieftain [Designed for advanced solo combat] https://edsy.org/s/vCFRlsl "TitanSpace" Chieftain - NOT RECOMMENDED [Highly suboptimal - use a Krait Mk2 instead; it's better in quite literally every way] https://edsy.org/s/vy1zmIK Note: A-AGF engineering is obviously required on the shards "Alliance Chieftain AX Jumpstart" - NOT RECOMMENDED, REAL $$$ COST [Purchased with ARX - trash build; keep the dirty drives, A/D-rated modules, and small gauss; convert the rest to the meta build] https://edsy.org/s/vMSso2E Tutorial video links    • Anti-Xeno Academy: Learn how to fight Thar...      • Видео   Select notable fights    • The First Octuple Hydra Solo      • Видео      • 【Elite:Dangerous】20 Medusa VS Chieftain So...   Chapters 00:00 - Introduction 01:55 - The Metachief Build 03:06 - Build Variants 04:18 - Power Priorities, Firegroups, PIPs 05:37 - Usage notes and tutorials 06:21 - Most Notable Fights 07:09 - Limitations of the Chieftain 08:37 - Showcase: No-Hit Hydra 1st heart 10:23 - The Chieftain has lost the "meta" crown Credits Royalty Free Music from Tunetank.com Track: Future Technologies by TrendingAudio https://tunetank.com/track/3221-futur...
