Today’s journey takes me back to the Château de Gratot and the legend of Andaine — the fairy who fell in love with a human, asked him for one promise… and disappeared when he broke it. But the story left me with much bigger questions. Why do we sacrifice so much of ourselves for love? What happened to the powerful, unpredictable fairies of older folklore — and how did they become the tiny, harmless creatures we imagine today? And, as I travel deeper into The Witch Wound, I'm beginning to wonder something else… Before we can understand the history of the witch, do we first need to understand the history of magic?
