Nurse Niels Högel, a prolific “Angel of Death,” stood accused of at least 100 murders. Early on in his career, he became addicted to inducing cardiac arrest so he could heroically rescue patients, leading to countless deaths. Niels had already stood in court three times at this point, but it seemed detectives were stuck in a horrifying maze, with new cases appearing around every corner after each trial.
