Mundra, Chairman of ICS Headquarters, shares his reflections on the organisation’s legacy, the achievements of the Karnataka branch, and the way forward in cancer prevention and care. In his address, he highlights the importance of active cancer prevention, particularly through efforts to discourage tobacco use and address other lifestyle-related risk factors. He also recognises the Karnataka branch’s achievements in cancer screening and its work in palliative care through Karunashe. A significant moment in his address is the announcement of his personal contribution of ₹1 crore as seed capital towards establishing a centre for complementary and alternative therapies for cancer care at the Indian Cancer Society. The proposed centre aims to support applied, evidence-based research and help address gaps in cancer care. Mr. Mundra is a corporate executive, independent director, financial advisor and philanthropist. His distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at Hindustan Lever, RPG Group, Wockhardt and Essar Oil. He has also served as visiting faculty at IIM Ahmedabad.
