I Installed a Cheap Android Head Unit in My Renault Megane… Then Fixed Everything Wrong With It

I recently fitted a cheap Android head unit to my 2012 Renault Megane, mainly to add Apple CarPlay and bring the original infotainment system a little more up to date. The basic installation went pretty smoothly… but it definitely wasn't quite as plug-and-play as I was hoping! In this video I go through the problems I was left with after the initial install and work through getting everything properly integrated into the car — including the steering wheel controls, reverse camera, FM radio reception and some of the other little issues that initially made the Android unit feel more like a standalone screen than part of the Megane. I also finish installing and routing the reverse camera properly into the rear bumper and show what I changed to get everything working. Hopefully this is useful if you're thinking about fitting one of these Android/CarPlay head units to a Renault Megane III (Mk3), or you've already installed one and are having some of the same problems.
