Zeiss Axioskop 2-Plus | Comparing Phase Contrast, Darkfield & DIC

This video features a Zeiss Axioskop 2-Plus upright microscope configured for phase contrast, darkfield-dry, DIC, and fluorescence. We demonstrate imaging of pond water using a variety of objectives and contrasting techniques. Although the microscope is configured for fluorescence, fluorescence imaging is not demonstrated in this video. We also do not use the 100x oil immersion objective. Our only DIC objective is the 20x, so DIC images are limited to that magnification. Throughout the video, we switch between phase contrast, darkfield, and DIC to help illustrate the differences between these contrasting techniques.
