I was here for the Shpageeza Cricket League 2025, spending most days at the stadium for double-header matches, but the in-between moments were just as special — walking through narrow lanes, watching kids sell bread and fruits in 7-kg “ser” packets, seeing the golden evening light fall on Kabul’s colourful bazaars, and feeling the 90s nostalgia in the cool mountain breeze after a hot day. Afghani hospitality is unmatched — every handshake warm, every tea cup refilled before you can finish it, and every street filled with colours, laughter, and life.
