Why Snowbirds Come to Cape Coral — and What Season Means for the Rest of Us | Cape Insight

Every year the population swells, the restaurants fill up, and Del Prado backs up. So why do they keep coming? Dan Sheppard and Don Apking talk about what draws snowbirds to Cape Coral specifically — not just Florida — what they bring with them, what they cost us, and why the city is built around a population that isn't here half the year. Dan has lived here since 1998 and served on City Council from 2020 to 2024. Don founded The Tree Trust of Cape Coral. Both have watched this cycle for a long time.
