After a month away from my bicycle, I'm finally back in the saddle! The journey to get here was long and exhausting. I took a bus from Arusha to Mbeya, and the ticket cost me 70,000 Tanzanian Shillings—very expensive! The bus was supposed to leave at 6 AM but didn't depart until 7 AM, and we didn't arrive until 1 AM the next day. That's 16-17 hours of tough, cramped travel. From Mbeya, I had to catch another bus to Tukuyu, where I had left my bicycle with a local mother a full month ago. When I finally reached her home, she had kept all my belongings safe for an entire month. To thank her for her incredible trust and kindness, I gave her $20. She was so moved that she almost cried. Moments like this remind me why this journey is so special. Tonight, I'm resting in Tukuyu. Tomorrow, after a whole month, I will finally ride my bicycle again towards the Malawi border.
