Middle Passage Riddum by Network Riddum Band

Upon the devastating loss of Brother Resistance today, I post this second Network Riddum Band recording (after "Goodbye Columbus" posted some years ago). "Middle Passage Riddum" was the first track on Side 2 of the 1984 album Rapso Explosion. The album was recorded at Sea Lots under difficult conditions, the band having been recently forced to stand by and watch its headquarters/studio/community centre demolished by police after months of harassment. The evocative and often polemical lyrics of "Middle Passage Riddum" make it clear why the Afrocentric Leftist NRB were beloved by carpenters and UWI graduate students, teachers and taxi drivers alike. Obviously, all copyright of this recording is retained by Network Riddum Band.
