Vocal Strength Coach Reacts to Nene Royal | B.Y.O.B. | FIRST TIME

This is now my SECOND System of a Down cover from Nene Royal, and these are getting stupidly good. 😂 System of a Down is already an unusual band, and Serj Tankian is an even more unusual vocalist. So much of these songs is built around his enormous range, his timbre, his rhythmic choices, and his ability to go from controlled to completely unhinged in about half a second. That makes covering a song like “B.Y.O.B.” a serious challenge for anybody — let alone a young singer who has to find a way to make all of those moments work through a completely different voice. And Nene just GOES for it. I love her energy. I love how hard she commits to these songs. She doesn’t seem intimidated by the material at all — and yes, hearing her actually swear in this one was a delightful little bonus. 😂 After “Toxicity” and now “B.Y.O.B.,” I’m really digging the Nene Royal/System of a Down combination. So I need your help: Should I do “Lonely Day” or “Chop Suey!” next? And I found a roughly 59-second clip of Nene covering Linkin Park’s “Faint.” Does a longer or full-length version exist? And does she have any other full Linkin Park covers I need to know about? Because if there’s a full “Faint,” that may immediately jump to the front of the line. Also, I am officially TRIPLING DOWN on my AGT finals prediction: OZONE joins Nene onstage. They play “Master of Puppets.” And she wins. I’m committed now 😂
