Mortal Kombat Annihilation, the 1997 live action sequel to the original MK movie, is... Oh man, it's something. Annihilation carries a very distinct reputation, as I'm sure you've heard. Is it a bad movie? Yes, it is. Is it shocking that such a film was released in theaters? Honestly, I think it is shocking, yes. Look, the '95 OG Mortal Kombat movie is surprisingly good! It holds up, even to this day, it's charming and nostalgic. Mortal Kombat Annihilation is terrible from head to toe. The writing is terrible, the plot is worthless, the acting is garbage, re-used special effects and bad cuts pull it down even from a production standpoint, it sucks. I'm telling you, it sucks.
