EPISCOPAL ORDINATION OF RT. REV. VINCENT KIRABO AS BISHOP OF HOIMA CATHOLIC DIOCESE, PART 1

Episcopal ordination is the sacred religious rite by which a person is consecrated and made a bishop. It represents the final and highest degree of the Sacrament of Holy Orders (or the three-fold historic ministry) and continues apostolic succession. It grants the recipient the full authority and sacramental power of the priesthood, including the ability to ordain deacons, priests, and other bishops. The newly ordained bishop receives the charge to govern, teach, sanctify, and shepherd a specific geographic area or diocese. It serves as a visible, historical link transmitting the spiritual authority and mission originally given by Jesus to the apostles.
