Why Palpatine Was Secretly AFRAID of the Mortis Gods

Palpatine spent his whole life certain that nothing in the galaxy outranked him, and then his own apprentice landed on a planet that proved otherwise. This video looks at why the three beings on Mortis were a bigger problem for the Emperor than any Jedi ever was, and it starts with two pages torn out of a Jedi training manual. The Father, the Son, and the Daughter were not just powerful Force users. They held a job that the entire Sith order had no answer for, and the Father offered that job to Anakin Skywalker before Palpatine ever got the chance to finish him. Along the way there is the Son making Palpatine's exact pitch years earlier and getting a yes, the war Palpatine wrote himself so he could stand above both sides of it, the one power Mortis had that he could only counterfeit, and the door on Lothal that opened for a boy and stayed shut for an Emperor. Legends fills in what canon leaves out, including the ritual where Palpatine and his master believed they had knocked the Force off its own throne. By the end, the reason he was afraid has nothing to do with who would win a fight.
