BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response Integrated Task 8 Approval of recommendations “What did we learn that we can share?” Having concluded with the incident investigation, consider the wider implications: could the same thing happen elsewhere in the organisation, on this site or at another location? What steps can be taken to avoid this? These factors need to be considered when approving the recommendations. Role play – Recording You are in the role of a safety advisor; your task is to communicate the findings and seek for the approval of the recommendations of the investigation from management. • Select two people to be in the role of management and HSR to review the findings and approve of the recommendations. • Distribute a copy of the Draft Safety Alert. • Provide an overview of the incident, findings and recommendations. • During the discussion, question your audience to clarify their level of understanding. Request constructive feedback. • During the review and approval process, request 2 further recommendations from your team members. • Include the recommendations within the Safety Alert in a different colour font, remove the draft watermark and upload as a separate document.
