We set up camp at Turkey Swamp Park Campground in Freehold, New Jersey, and used it as our central basecamp for exploring some incredible regional highlights across New Jersey and Staten Island! From quiet mornings under the pines to coastal sights, historic architecture, and classic music history, here is a look at where this trip took us: Snug Harbor Cultural Center (Staten Island, NY): Exploring the stunning botanical gardens, historic 19th-century architecture, and quiet pathways tucked away on Staten Island. Cape May, NJ: A full day heading south to visit the iconic Cape May Lighthouse, stroll through the Washington Street Mall pedestrian district, and admire the beautiful Victorian architecture and classic vacation homes along Columbia Avenue. Asbury Park & The Bruce Springsteen Center: Taking in the iconic boardwalk scene and diving into music history at the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.
