1982 Eliminaton Final Essendon v North Melbourne

So it ends here again. 5 consecutive Elimination final losses at VFL Park. Coach Kevin Sheedy swung the axe at the end of the season seeing Grand Fowler leave the club, Max Crow go to Footscray and Justin Madden go to Carlton. In would come Premiership (future) midfielders Darren 'daisy' Williams and Alan Ezard among others. 50,537 turned up to see Essendon 16.19 (115) bow out of the finals to North Melbourne 19.14 (128). This caused commentator to call it 'Eliminitis'.
