Armenian Dances, composed by Alfred Reed. (performed by KLM Orkest) - #klmorkest

Armenian Dances by the American composer Alfred Reed, inspired by a collection of folk songs of the Armenian priest and musician Konitas Vardapet. The piece opens with a grand and sentimental song about the Apricot Tree, followed by the light, delicate Song of the Partridge. This is followed by a dance in 5/8 time (Hey, my Nazan) and a majestic song about the Armenian mountain Alagyaz. The piece ends with a laughter song, in which dynamics and speed compete with each other. The Band of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM Orkest), is conducted by Bert Willemsen.
