Mario Smash Football / Super Mario Strikers - Gamecube - Intro & Two Full Match Gameplay

Two full matches with Mario vs Yoshi and Donkey Kong vs Peach to showcase this enjoyable take on football (Soccer to you Americans) featuring Mario and friends. The game is loosely based on the five-a-side football format with four players and a goal keep making up the team. Each team is led by a star player player of either Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Waluigi. All teams get a Kritter in goal, along with three sidekick players made up of Toads, Koopas ,Hammer Bros. or Birdos. The final team is the Super Robot Team who also get a robo-Kritter goalie. They were a bit generic and removed in the sequel. Bowser King of the Koopers himself only appears in a cameo roll in the game, he wasn't made a playable character until the second game on Nintendo Wii. The aim of the game is to score as many goals as you can. Unlike real football, however you can score multiple goals / points with a super strike from your star player. You can obtain bonus items to knock, hit and stun opponent players. Browser can sometime appear in the centre of the arena and the walls along the edge of the arena can also stun you. It's a fun fast paced game, with a great ball control on both passing and shooting. It simple to play and easy to pick up, while scoring does rely receive to much on super shots, you can still score with well placed normal shots and perfect passes. Fun in single player, but an even bigger blast in multiplayer. The game includes a 16:9 mode, but it isn't true wide screen and doesn't apply to certain menus. For this video we did use it, but you do lose picture quality as a result.
