Today we’re officially kicking off our Year 2 Fall Harvest, but before we can get into the fields, we’re making a MASSIVE $1,500,000 upgrade to our harvesting fleet! We start by wrapping up our Year 2 silage harvest and advancing into October, where our 180 acre soybean field is finally ready to harvest. Before heading into the field, we sell both of our older Case IH 9240 combines and replace them with TWO BRAND NEW CASE IH 9250 COMBINES! These new machines give us more horsepower, larger grain tanks, faster unloading speeds, and several new configuration options to help us handle the massive harvests coming up on this MEGA Beef Farm. After spending $1.5 million on the upgrade, we get both combines configured, fueled, and loaded onto the road before making our way up to Field 31, our massive 180 acre soybean field. We also bring along our two John Deere tractors and J&M auger wagons along with our grain-hauling semi trucks so we have the entire harvest operation ready to go. Once everything is in position, we get both of the new Case IH 9250s set up with Courseplay and AutoDrive and officially begin harvesting our Year 2 soybean crop! The two combines work together through the headlands before beginning their long passes through this massive field, while our semi trucks prepare to haul the soybeans back to the MEGA Beef Farm. This is only the beginning of our Fall harvest, though. Once we get these 180 acres of soybeans completely harvested, we'll have our BIGGEST FIELD OF THE YEAR waiting for us more than 300 acres of corn right next to the MEGA Beef Farm!
