After a month of playing the Fender Pro Junior, it completely changed how I think about guitar tone, simplicity, and what actually matters in terms of gear.
This amp is about as simple as it gets—just volume and tone—but somehow it delivers some of the most usable, mix-ready tones I’ve heard in a long time. If you know my channel, you already know that I love the Vox AC15 and use the Normal channel - just a volume with no EQ. So, perhaps it's not so surprising that the Pro Jr has hit that sweet spot for me.
In this video, I break down:
Why simple amps like the Pro Junior can outperform complex rigs
How small amps actually sound BIG in a mix
Why the Fender Pro Jr works so well with pedals (especially fuzz)
How I’m recording this amp silently using the Two Notes Captor X
And the biggest lesson this amp taught me about chasing tone
If you’ve been stuck in the “more gear = better tone” mindset, this might change how you approach your entire setup. After nearly a decade of doing YouTube gear demos, I have to admit that this simple and affordable amp has humbled me quite a bit.
This is just the beginning—I’m turning this into a full series where I test the Pro Junior with different guitars, pedals, speakers, and recording setups. Be sure to subscribe so that you can follow along with this series.
