An Uthden Tale - 93/94 Old School Magic: a documentary film

Every year, players from the Netherlands and abroad travel to the Uthden Troll Cup, one of the best-known tournaments in Old School Magic: The Gathering. The format allows only cards from 1993 and 1994, the very first years of the game. What started as a hobby for a small group of players has grown into a regular meeting place for an international community. This documentary is my first step into documentary film making. With multiple cameras and microphones, I try to capture what a single photo cannot show: the conversations, the tension at the table and the feeling of a community that comes together year after year. Watch along and discover why the Uthden Troll Cup is a fixed point on the calendar for so many players.
