The Entire History of Israel: Explained in 15 Minutes

From a burning Jerusalem in 586 BC to the modern state, this is the entire history of Israel in 15 minutes: the land, the kingdoms, the exiles, the empires, and the arguments that still shape the headlines. We follow the story from the first known mention of “Israel” on an Egyptian stone around 1208 BC through the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, the Assyrian and Babylonian conquests, the Persian return, the Maccabees and Hanukkah, Roman rule and the destruction of the Second Temple, the rise of Christianity and Islam in Jerusalem, the Crusades, Ottoman rule, Zionism, the British Mandate, 1948, the wars that followed, and the modern country. Where historians genuinely disagree, such as the Exodus, the size of David’s kingdom, or the causes of the 1948 refugee exodus, we say so and present the competing views instead of picking a side.
