ABRAHAM—(GENESIS 12-17)—GOD'S CALLING AND COVENANT—Sung by Steve Kuban, with hymns and songs

Scripture: Genesis 12–17 Genesis 12 begins with God calling Abram to leave his homeland and family and go to a land He will show him. God promises to make Abram a great nation, bless him, make his name great, and bless all the families of the earth through him. Despite famine, danger, and years of waiting for a son, Abram learns to trust God's promises. God establishes His covenant with Abram, promises him descendants as numerous as the stars, and gives him and Sarai new names: Abraham and Sarah. The covenant is marked by circumcision, and God promises that Abraham will become the father of many nations. The connection to Yeshua (Jesus): God's promise that "All the families of the earth will be blessed through Abraham" points forward to Yeshua, through whom people from every nation can receive the blessing of salvation. The apostle Paul explains that those who belong to the Messiah are Abraham's offspring and heirs according to God's promise (Galatians 3:8, 16, 29). This Torah Portion #3 (Lehk Lehka, "Go Forth") reminds us that faith means trusting God's word even when we cannot yet see how His promises will be fulfilled. Abraham's journey of faith becomes a pattern for all who follow God, believing that His covenant promises reach their fulfillment in the Messiah. 24:58—Genesis 12-17—English Standard Version (ESV) 24:58 Genesis 12 33:09 Genesis 13 40:58 Genesis 14 50:50 Genesis 15 58:45 Genesis 16 1:07:18 Genesis 17 SONGS 00:33 And I Will Make of You A Great Nation [Genesis 12:1-3] (Steve Kuban—CCLI No. 7166571) 05:20 Trust and Obey (John H.
