Malaysia is one of the countries which honours the Mawlid Day which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad in Islam. On this day, huge celebration events are being held all around the country. The biggest one which welcomes the top figures like Prime Minister is in either Kuala Lumpur or Putrajaya. Before the event begins, there is a huge Mawlid march performed by thousands of civil servants, government workers, NGO members and etc. This huge march starts at 8.00 AM and lasts for one hour strait. Each government and non-governmental agencies are lined in the cortege alphabetically and each one of them are represented by approximately 50 representatives who shall wear Baju Melayu (traditional Malay clothes) and Samping (Traditional Malay loincloth) in different colours and patterns to distinguish themselves. During the march, people do some chantings which they call zikir. They glorify the Prophet Muhammad and express their gratitude for his honouring the world.
