Monster Shuffle

[Intro] One, two—lock the door! Three, four—hear the floor! [Verse 1] You came dressed as a midnight cat, With a paper moon pinned to your hat. I found your grin by the punch bowl ice, You said, “One dance,” and I said, “Twice.” [Pre-Chorus] The clock struck twelve, the room went still, Then every painted skeleton caught the thrill. You took my hand; the candles swayed— Now everybody’s in the parade! [Chorus] Do the monster shuffle, step to the left, Clap-clap twice, then hold your breath! Turn that corner, stomp your feet— Halloween’s got a wicked beat! Hey! Monster shuffle, round we go, Pumpkin grin and a tiptoe toe. When the midnight bells repeat, Do the monster shuffle down the street! [Verse 2] A little ghost in a borrowed coat Did the moonwalk past the punch we spilled. The witch at the door yelled, “Make some room!” Then spun her broom right across the room. [Pre-Chorus] The clock struck one, the walls leaned in, The whole old house began to spin. [Breakdown] Freeze like a statue—don’t make a sound! One little wiggle, now spin around! Hands up high, then touch the ground— When I say “boo,” jump off the ground! Boo! [Final Chorus] Do the monster shuffle, step to the left, Clap-clap twice, then hold your breath! Turn that corner, stomp your feet— Halloween’s got a wicked beat! Hey! Monster shuffle, round we go, Pumpkin grin and a tiptoe toe. When the midnight bells repeat, Do the monster shuffle down the street! [Outro] One, two—lock the door! Monster shuffle—one time more!
