Learning to be content in a world that constantly tells us we need more.
In today's video, I'm sharing a little of my story with shopping, insecurity, and the desire to have more, be more, and do more. What began as a struggle with spending eventually revealed something deeper in my heart: I was looking for a sense of worth and belonging in things that could never truly satisfy me.
I've been thinking a lot about contentment, consumption, and what it means to trust that the Lord really is our Shepherd and that we have all that we need in Him.
This isn't a conversation about never buying anything new or believing that having nice things is wrong. Rather, it's an invitation to examine the heart behind what we desire, how we steward what we've been given, and where we're ultimately looking for our satisfaction.
My prayer is that we would learn to enjoy God's good gifts with gratitude, hold our possessions with open hands, and stop chasing more long enough to recognize the fullness of what we already have in Christ.
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want." — Psalm 23:1
Thank you for being here and sharing in these ordinary days with me. 🤍
