Lauren & Brandon chose an intimate Black Hills elopement this past October, exchanging vows with just the two of them and their officiant surrounded by some of South Dakota’s most breathtaking landscapes. Their day was quiet, intentional, and deeply personal — a perfect reflection of their love. The day began in Badlands National Park on a misty, rain-soaked morning. The rain brought out the rich colors of the sandstone formations, creating a dramatic and romantic backdrop for the start of their elopement adventure. That afternoon, we met at Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park, where fall colors and thick fog wrapped the lake in a soft, dreamlike atmosphere for their ceremony. Officiant Barry led a beautiful, intimate ceremony as Lauren & Brandon shared private vows overlooking the fog-covered lake. Both avid anglers, Brandon even brought out his fly fishing rod for a few photos — a meaningful touch that made the day uniquely theirs. The evening ended with cake and a sweet first dance at the iconic Needles Eye Tunnel on Needles Highway, tucked into the granite spires of the Black Hills.
