Presented by Simon Fraser University’s Technology Licensing Office, this SFU Innovation Week 2026 panel brings together perspectives from science, medicine and engineering to explore how innovation can move from research into patient care. The conversation examines new approaches to medical education, the challenges of scaling health technologies beyond pilot projects, and the partnerships needed to bring discoveries into practice within Canada’s healthcare system. The panelists also explore how artificial intelligence, wearable technologies and genomic data could support more personalized and preventative care, while addressing privacy, equity and the importance of strengthening relationships between patients and care providers.
