Sunday Worship Service 8/2/26

Welcome to The Bible Church of Christ! In this powerful service, we are reminded of the life-changing power found in God's divine presence, where His grace and liberty set us free. As the Ecclesia—the called-out body of believers—we are not merely a social gathering, but a holy kingdom established by Jesus Christ. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus declared, "Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." When we stand firm on Christ the Solid Rock, we can move forward with complete confidence because 1 John 4:4 assures us that "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." This dynamic message explores what it truly means to be fortified and protected by God. Drawing from Job 1:6–12, we see how God places an unbreakable hedge of protection around His faithful servants, proving that the adversary cannot touch us without divine permission. Turning to Judges 13–16, we are warned through the life of Samson against violating our consecration and losing sight of God's presence, while receiving the comforting truth that even in seasons of isolation, God brings us to a place of repentance and restores our strength. Through the book of Nehemiah, we are challenged to move beyond pointing out broken places and instead become active builders in God's kingdom. Hearing of Jerusalem’s ruin, Nehemiah cried out in Nehemiah 1:3–9, repenting for the people and claiming God’s promise to gather and restore those who return to Him. Furthermore, as shown through Gideon's army in Judges 7:1–7, God often sifts and reduces what is around us so that He alone receives the glory. No matter what trial or dark cloud you face today, know that God is using every season of refinement to mold you for a greater purpose. As David proclaimed in Psalm 122:1, "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord," because His sanctuary brings true refuge and restoration. We pray this message fills your heart with hope, strength, and a renewed desire to seek the Lord.
