"Abusing" BASIC as a text editor on the Spectrum

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum clone "The Spectrum" by Retro Games allows for the creation and editing of "text files" via BASIC REM statements, saving whatever one has "commented". While certainly there are more convenient text editors out there, this method requires quasi zero effort and no external tools. The created file can then be processed on Windows’ Powershell or Linux’ Bash to extract a pretty clean text file, turning this modern retro machine into a potential word processing system, if one were so inclined. #zxspectrum #thespectrum #editor
