The Sacred Twenty-Eight left the Potters off its list and kept the Weasleys on it—two decisions that reveal the Directory was never really about blood at all. If the compiler's rules were as mechanical as they claimed, the entire roster should collapse under the same scrutiny that removed one of wizarding Britain's oldest names. What survives that test, and what was the book actually protecting?
The narration traces Henry Potter's public stand against the Ministry during the First World War, showing why the Potters may have been cut for an opinion rather than their blood. It examines how the Weasleys—a family notorious for sneering at purity and boasting Muggle relatives—stayed listed while families far more aligned with the Directory's own ideology got omitted. The video checks whether Cantankerus Nott, the man widely suspected of compiling the list, gave himself a place at the top and marked his own homework. It follows the Gaunt family's descent despite their legendary bloodlines, the Carrows' presence despite their allegiance, and asks the hardest question: if the book's system was truly impartial, which name actually deserved to be there?
The Directory looks like a record of nature. It reads like a record of approval—a wall full of names one family decided to keep, and burns where they decided to forget. The pedigree is a drawing, and every line on it was put there by a hand that chose where to draw it, and which lines to leave out.
