How Great Thou Art - Griffin Woodard Bass Clarinet Solo

How Great Thou Art is a traditional Swedish hymn with lyrics written by Carl Boberg in 1885. It is one of my favorite hymns, and I have been working on this solo bass clarinet rendition for a few years now. It was a great blessing to be able to play it during our concert in Fairchild Chapel at Oberlin College, my alma mater, on October 10, 2026. The Spirit of God was really flowing through the music that night. I would like to give thanks to God from whom all blessings flow! I would also like to give thanks to my bandmates who are truly my musical brothers, my family (my mother is our manager and made the whole concert happen through her hard work, and my wife lovingly recorded these concerts so they could be shared with you today!), and everyone who was present with us that night in-person or livestreaming from afar, old and new friends who are linked with us through the Oberlin musical legacy. We love you all! Musical Blessings, G
