Although registration is mandatory, most riders do not feel the need to comply. The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) states that operating an e-bike without registration is not permitted; however, the traffic police lack clear directives on how to handle this. Furthermore, some showrooms are selling e-bike models beyond those officially authorized. Meanwhile, vehicles resembling motorcycles—created by attaching motors to bicycles—can also be seen on the streets of the capital. M A Aziz reports, with Shahidul Islam behind the camera. Jamuna Television, also known as Jamuna TV, is a 24-hour news and current affairs television channel in Bangladesh.
