Andy Kaufman: The Man Who Refused to Be Understood

Andy Kaufman spent his career making people question what was real. Then he died — and people questioned that too. But behind Tony Clifton, the wrestling, the elaborate performances and decades of rumours was a real person who became almost impossible to separate from the characters he created. In this episode of Echoes, we look at the man behind the Andy Kaufman myth — why he refused to play by the normal rules of comedy, how his obsession with blurring reality and performance followed him into death, and why people still ask whether his final act was really his final act. Because sometimes the myth becomes bigger than the person who created it. The past never stays silent. #AndyKaufman #Echoes #TonyClifton #jimcarrey #jimandandy
