When the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers a seemingly habitable planet while traveling to establish a new human settlement, they believe they may have found paradise. Instead, they encounter a deadly alien threat and reunite with David, the android from Prometheus, whose secrets lead the crew into an increasingly horrifying fight for survival. As CinePals continues exploring the Alien prequels, Achara, Brandon, and Alli dive deeper into the origins of the franchise’s terrifying creatures, David’s mysterious experiments, the Engineers, and the connection between Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, and the original Alien movies. Can the crew survive the horrors waiting on this supposedly perfect world? Directed by Ridley Scott (The Martian, Gladiator, Blade Runner, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down), Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: First Class, Inglourious Basterds, 12 Years a Slave, Prometheus) as David and Walter, Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Inherent Vice, Steve Jobs, The World to Come) as Daniels, Billy Crudup (Watchmen, Mission: Impossible III, Almost Famous, The Morning Show, Justice League) as Christopher Oram, Danny McBride (Pineapple Express, This Is the End, Eastbound & Down, The Righteous Gemstones, The Mitchells vs. the Machines) as Tennessee, and Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight, The Nun, Godzilla vs. Kong, A Better Life, Weeds) as Sergeant Lope. The film also features Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Callie Hernandez, and Jussie Smollett, with Noomi Rapace returning as Elizabeth Shaw and Guy Pearce reprising his role as Peter Weyland. With Ridley Scott continuing the science fiction horror saga he helped create, this chapter brings together alien creature horror, terrifying survival scenes, android mysteries, and the unsettling questions about creation and humanity introduced in Prometheus.
