EVERY SINGLE Space Marine Veteran Type Explained (Warhammer 40,000)

EVERY SINGLE Space Marine Veteran Type Explained (Warhammer 40,000) Sternguard is a Space Marine veteran infantry unit specializing in ranged firepower above all other combat roles. Drawn exclusively from a chapter's First Company or its equivalent veteran pool, Sternguard are distinguished above all else by their access to special-issue bolter ammunition unavailable to standard battle companies. Four ammunition types are documented consistently across sources. Kraken penetrator rounds are armor-piercing, designed to punch through carapace and light vehicle plating at range. Hellfire rounds carry mutagenic acid in their tips, breaking apart biological tissue from within, making them particularly lethal against large organisms. Vengeance rounds are short-range and high-explosive, designed for maximum damage in confined spaces. Dragonfire rounds are engineered to clear cover, projecting burning material through obstacles and forcing enemies into the open.
