I fought the urge to venture into Lighthouse Lakes because I have been there so many times in the past. Today I found a spot on Google Earth and decided to fish it instead. I was rewarded with a nice trout and got to explore a new area. I went through some familiar spots and saw some interesting things, ended up keeping one redfish for dinner and caught lots of small trout and broke off a couple. Time, Route and Distance I launched on the Shrimp boat channel East of lighthouse lakes park, pedaled on the East side of lighthouse lakes up the Lydia Ann channel and fished the back side of St. Joseph's Island then headed West through Corpus Christi Bayou, into California Hole, through South Bay, hit some deeper cuts on the edges of the Aransas channel on the way back to the truck. 11 hours on the water 16.5 miles pedaled Weather Parly cloudy, hot and hazy Wind 5-15 mph Air temperature 95 Water temperature 85-90 Moon phase waxing crescent 26.2% illumination Falling Tide 1.4 feet to 1.1ft at 3:00 pm See ya'll on the water!
